According to The Verge who spoke with iFixit’s Kevin Purdy, Steam Deck replacement parts will go on sale later this Summer. That means you will still have to wait a little while before being able to swap out any parts that need it. Though, this Summer isn’t too far off in the grand scheme of things. Especially since there doesn’t appear to be a high demand for replacement parts at the moment. That being said, you can put yourself on a waitlist to be notified as soon as replacement parts go up for sale. And that might not be such a bad idea since you could be prepared with parts to swap out if the need ever arises.

Which replacement parts iFixit will sell for the Steam Deck is still unclear
Users now have an idea of when replacement parts will be available to buy. But they still don’t know what exactly iFixit will be selling. You might only need to look back at Valve’s teardown video to get an idea though. In that video posted last year, Valve said it would eventually be selling things like SSDs and thumbsticks. It also noted that it might sell more parts than that. Considering those mentions, users have a decent baseline of what to expect from iFixit. Of course there’s no guarantee this is what iFixit will be selling.
The earliest Steam Decks have already been delivered
If you missed it last week, Valve has already delivered the first Steam Decks to arrive for shipment. Valve CEO Gabe Newell hand delivered signed Steam Deck orders to a select number of reservation holders around the Seattle area. Which makes sense given Valve’s headquarters is located in Bellevue, Washington. Beyond those, more customers from the first wave of reservations should be seeing their Steam Decks arrive sometime this weekend and throughout next week.
