In case you don’t know, Google is going to host its next Pixel event on Thursday, October 6th at 10 am EST. During the event, we’re going to see the Pixel 7, Pixel Watch, and some new Nest devices. You should tune in if you want to see what hardware the company’s working on.
A New leak shows the Pixel 7 specs
At this point, there’s not much left to the imagination regarding the specs for these phones. For starters, this is expected to be more of an iterative update rather than a major overhaul. The Pixel 7 phones will share some of their DNA with the Pixel 6 phones.
Pixel 7 specs
Starting off with the standard model, it’s going to have a 6.3-inch display with a punch-hole in the center of the screen. It’s expected to have a resolution of 2400 x 1080. This is a pOLED display that will run at up to 90Hz. As for the processor, this phone will use Google’s new Tensor 2nd-gen processor. This will definitely give it a performance boost over last year’s processor. This one was co-developed with Samsung and it uses a 4nm process. As for the camera package, this phone is going to have two cameras on the rear. It will have a 50MP main camera (f/1.85, 1.3″ sensor, 82° FOV) accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2, 1/2.9″ sensor, 106° FOV, ). Upfront, there’s a 10.8MP selfie camera (f/2.2, 1/3.1″ sensor, 97° FOV). That’s an improvement over the 8MP camera on the Pixel 6. The Pixel 7 will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage. As expected, this phone won’t come with microSD card expansion. Also, this phone will have a 4355mAh battery, as well. It will be 155.64 x 73.16 x 8.7mm. Rounding out the specs, the Pixel 7 will come with IP68 water and dust resistance.
Pixel 7 Pro
The Pixel 7 Pro is the more premium phone in the duo. This phone will have a larger 6.7-inch display with a sharper 3120 x 1440 resolution. This phone will run at 120Hz, and the LTPO technology means that it will go as low as 1Hz. The Pro model will come with a triple camera setup. It will have the same cameras as the base model with the addition of a 48MP telephoto camera ( f/3.5, 1/2.55″ sensor, 4.8x optical zoom). It will also have a macro focus function. The processor will be the same Tensor 2nd-gen chip as with the base model. However, this phone will come with 12GB of RAM with 128GB/256GB/512GB of storage. There’s no SDcard expansion with this model either. It will be 162.9 x 76.55 x 8.9mm. The Pro model of the phone will have a larger 5000mAh battery keeping the lights, Face unlock, and a peak screen brightness of 1500 nits. The Pixel 7 will cost $599 and the Pixel 7 Pro will cost $899. They are expected to be available on October 13th.
