You can now alter the look of the Ball watch face by adding the flag of your team to it. The update notes mention that the Ball watch face is a “newly added” item, but that isn’t the case. The Ball watch face is definitely an option that’s been available since launch. The newly added part is the ability to add the flag of different World Cup teams, so your Galaxy Watch 5 takes on that look. The new watch face theme options are technically the only new functional thing in the update. At least when it comes to things users can change. But the update also includes stability and reliability fixes. Specifically, improvements to notifications and device behavior.
Add some World Cup flair to your Galaxy Watch 5
SamMobile states that the update was initially being pushed out to users in South Korea. But as of this morning when we checked our own Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, we had the update as well. Which means users in the US should be seeing this today as well. If they hadn’t received it prior to today. The update is about 515MB in size so it may take a little time to download and install it. You’ll potentially need to check and see if the update is available using the Galaxy Wearable app. Then let the app copy the update to your watch once the download is finished. This, for us, has been taking a little while. So if it isn’t completing right away for you, not to worry.
