The Galaxy Z Fold 4 & Z Flip 4 could be more affordable than their predecessors

He is rarely wrong in his predictions, so there’s a good chance this will come true. He did say “might see a price cut”, so he’s not entirely sure it will happen, but that’s what he expects. That’s not the only thing that he revealed, though. He went to Twitter to say that Samsung is planning to produce a lot more Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 devices in July, than it did last year with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. He says that the production is “more than double”, which seems to indicate Samsung is expecting strong demand for the devices. Samsung does expect to improve the sales of its foldables in 2022 quite a bit, even though those sales improved last year as well. Foldable devices are becoming more popular by the day, and Samsung’s sales are a proof of that. That’s probably one of the reasons why Ross Young thinks these two devices will be more affordable this time around.

Don’t expect a huge price change, though

Don’t expect huge price changes, but it’s possible we may see slightly lower prices. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 launched with $1,800 and $1,000 price tags. Eventually, their price tags dropped to $1,400 and $850. Now, optimists among you would say those are the possible price tags for the new models. That’s highly unlikely. Samsung may be able to cut those prices up to $100 for each model, but we don’t expect them to go lower than that. That’s not to say that the two devices won’t see price cuts later on, of course. Who knows, maybe the company will be truly aggressive with pricing this year, and go even lower than that. Both devices are tipped to arrive in Q3 this year, most likely in August.
