For starters, the keyboard is now faster. It features up to an 8,0000Hz USB polling rate compared to the 1,000Hz USB polling rate on the K70 RGB MK.2. This is thanks to the Corsair AXON technology. Which helps to make sure your key presses are quickly relayed to the game. If you play competitively in ranked match types, you want all the help you can get, and in the case of the K70 RGB Pro, that help comes partially in the form of faster commands.
The K70 RGB Pro now uses USB-C with a braided cable
Another one of the improvements the Pro model makes over the MK.2 model is the cable. With the MK.2 you’re getting a fixed cable that plugs into your PC. And that’s all fine and dandy, but it’s not great for travel or storage really. Wit the Pro, Corsair is now using a braided USB-C cable that’s detachable. So you simply fold or roll it up into a nice and neat little package when you need to. It also features Cherry MX mechanical switches, with options for Red, Brown, Speed, Blue, and Silent. At least in the US. Corsair says that which Cherry MX switches are available will vary by region. Still, most of the options should be available wherever the keyboard is sold. Another upgrade is the palm rest. While the MK.2 comes with a detachable palm rest, the one on the Pro is magnetic, making it way easier to attach and detach on the fly. Interestingly enough, Corsair has kept the price of the K70 RGB Pro the same as the K70 RGB Mk.2. $160. Although, you will end up having to pay $10 more if you want the Speed or Silent switches. You can pick up the keyboard from Corsair already through its online shop. And on February 13 it’ll hit Best Buy. Corsair also expects other US retailers to follow soon after.
